18th Century Oak Panelled Coffer

A good example of an 18th Century english oak coffer with a traditional panelled construction. The front panels have nicely carved detail with leaves surrounding circular motifs. The planked lid opens on its original strap hinges to reveal a boarded floor and small candle box.
 
It is in good original condition and has developed a beautiful rich patina. There are some signs of age and use, some small marks and knocks and some minor signs of old historic worm but nothing detrimental and it displays well. It has been cleaned and gently polished and is ready for use.
