A fine and substantial Edwardian mahogany revolving bookcase, dating to circa 1900, of generous proportions and excellent colour.
The bookcase is of square form, fitted with three tiers of open shelving, each divided into sections and enclosed by elegant vertical slatted galleries with brass roundel mounts. The whole rotates smoothly on its original castors, allowing easy access from all sides.
Constructed in well-figured mahogany, the piece displays a rich, warm tone and attractive grain throughout, with a nicely moulded top above. The proportions are particularly pleasing, being larger than the more commonly found examples, making it both practical and visually impressive.
Raised on a shaped cruciform base with original castors, it remains sturdy and functional, ideal for use in a study, library or sitting room.
