Edwardian silver typically reflects the opulence of the early 20th century, often drawing inspiration from neoclassical and Georgian motifs with lighter, more refined ornamentation than the preceding Victorian era.

Antique tea caddies were predominantly manufactured from solid sterling silver, fashioned using traditional silversmithing techniques such as hand-raising, casting for feet and handles, and detailed chased or engraved ornamentation.

Authentic pieces are identified by examining British hallmarks stamped directly onto the metal, which typically include the makers mark, the standard mark for sterling silver, the town assay office mark, and a date letter corresponding to the specific year of testing.

An antique silver tea caddy can be integrated into modern interiors by placing it on a sideboard, mantelpiece, or open shelving as a reflective metallic accent that contrasts with minimalist or textured surfaces.

Antique silver should be cleaned sparingly using a specialized, non-abrasive silver polish and a soft microfiber cloth to preserve the patina, avoiding harsh chemicals and storing it in a tarnish-resistant environment with stable humidity.
