Kingsdown Antiques has dated this Georgian Sheffield Plate Tea Caddy to the 1800s.

The front is fitted with a keyhole, reflecting the traditional practice of locking away tea when it was a valuable commodity (key not included). Fine beaded edging around the lid adds a restrained decorative finish typical of late 18th century taste. It has its original tinned interior – circa 1800.

A true George III tea caddy evokes the period when tea was kept with ceremony and care!
