Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Victorian table lamp takes the form of a cold-painted bronze classical female figure wearing draped garments, standing upon a green marble square plinth. The figural base supports a newly handmade pink silk shade trimmed with a beaded fringe. Converted to electric, the lighting uses authentic corded flex and includes either a foot switch or a finger clicker switch, alongside standard safety testing. The overall object measures 60 cm high by 30 cm wide and 30 cm deep. Positioned on a sideboard top, this piece brings a distinct Victorian and Gothic aesthetic to a traditional interior. The rich bronze finish of the sculptural body contrasts with the pale pink fabric and the deep green tones of the marble base. The detailed casting of the classical female figure captures fine drapery folds and a naturalistic stance, anchoring the elaborate shade above. Ideal for adding soft illumination and period character to a living room, hallway or study, the lamp integrates history and decorative craftsmanship into domestic spaces.

FAQs

Victorian figural bronze lamps feature sculpted human or mythological figures supporting the light source, popularised during the late nineteenth century as decorative interior lighting.

They were constructed using lost-wax or sand casting for the bronze statue, mounted on stone or marble bases, and paired with fabric, glass, or beaded shades.

Authentic period lamps exhibit detailed metalwork detailing, natural age patina without modern artificial spraying, substantial weight, and original threaded assembly fittings.

Place the lamp on a contemporary sideboard, console, or bedside table to add a classical focal point and warm ambient illumination to a room scheme.

Dust the bronze figure gently with a soft microfibre cloth without harsh chemicals, and clean fabric or beaded shades using a light feather duster or soft brush attachment.
