A striking bronze figure, depicting a semi-clad female figure holding aloft a flaming torch in her right hand, her extended left hand holding the folds of a long cloak which swathes her body, naked, save for a short skirt with feathered waistband, a pair of arm bands and sandals with decorated ankle bands. Her flowing hair with feathered headband and with beaded earrings and necklace. The splayed circular plinth decorated with flowers leaves and moss. Possibly depicting a highly stylized representation of the legendary Pocahontas. Unsigned, probably French, circa 1890-1910, with deep brown patination.
