Matched Pair Of Antique Silver Novelty Peppers

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: The Silver Cabinet

This is a very charming couple of solid sterling silver pepperettes.

They are hallmarked for Chester 1902 & Chester 1894 and both carry the maker''s mark for Saunders and Shepherd.

The lids pull off to reveal good gilding inside and partial hallmarks on the sides. There are a couple of small dents to the bottom rims and one has a slightly bent thumb piece on the handle - quite useful if you wanted to distinguish between them as salt and pepper for a picnic!
