This late Victorian silver-plated toast rack originates from Sheffield during the period around 1880, produced by the maker Parkin & Marshall. Modelled in a faithful Regency style, the piece takes a rectangular form and stands upon four small spherical ball feet. Six curved wire dividers create six individual divisions to hold slices of toast securely. A central vertical support rises from the frame, terminating in an openwork trefoil carrying handle with a loop design.
