A Pair of Empire Period Bronze Candlesticks on Sienna Marble Plinths, C 1830

This very fine pair of early 19th century French candlesticks is ornately modelled in the Empire style. They stand raised on shaped and polished sienna marble plinths, which are bolted from the underside to the three Grecian style lion's paw feet, which raise and support the decorative columns with foliate collars and wreaths throughout their length, and are finally terminated in ornate candle holders. All the fine casting is hand finished with chased detail. Both are in very good condition and finish with a mid brown /green patina.
