Technical Description
An early 19th century glass finger bowl in Amethyst. Incurved bowl with dimple moulded decoration to the lower section which continues under the bowl to the pontil.
Used for rinsing the fingers at the dining table in a time when eating with the hands was commonplace.
Date & Origin
England, c1830 period of William IV.
Condition
Excellent, no chips, cracks, or restoration.
