This is a Georgian, mouth-blown, plain bowl glass cream jug with an applied blue glass rim dating from the turn of the 18th/19th centuries, c1800. The jug is in excellent condition for its age. This means of course that it shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the base consistent with some 200 years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the underside of the base. The jug has a baluster-shaped bowl measuring 6 cm (2.4 inches) in diameter at the pouring rim. The bowl is plain but the pouring rim is enhanced with applied blue glass. The jug is 9.5 cm (3.8 inches) across at its widest point (pouring spout to outside of the handle) and is 9.5 cm (3.8 inches) in height. The bowl sits on a conical and folded foot that measures 6 cm (2.4 inches) in diameter.
