The World is Made of Glass Ltd. has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The jug is in excellent condition for its age.
It has a rough pontil mark on the underside of the base.
The jug has a baluster-shaped bowl measuring 4.8 cm (1.9 inches) in diameter at the pouring rim. The bowl is plain. The jug is 8 cm (3.2 inches) across at its widest point (pouring spout to outside of the handle) and is 8.5 cm (3.4 inches) in height. The bowl sits on a conical foot which measures 4.3 cm (1.7 inches) in diameter. The handle was first applied to the top of the bowl and then finished off at the bottom of the bowl with a curlicue. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any other obvious evidence of restoration. There is a collector's numbered sticker to the base and one for the Cook Collection.
A pretty, period jug weighing in at 120 g. (~ 4 oz.).
