Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This 19th-century Swedish pine dresser reflects Scandinavian country style with a two-part design, an arched top moulded cornice, panelled doors, and carved corbels. The piece uses warm brown pine and iron hardware, showing decorative iron escutcheons, scroll feet, and a hanging tassel ornament on the upper door. The upper section contains a single shelf behind its door, while the lower cupboard provides enclosed storage. Practical for everyday use in a country kitchen, dining room, or hallway, the dresser measures 185 cm high, 92 cm wide, and 49 cm deep. The clean timber surfaces highlight natural grain variations, and the structure retains its original lock and working key on the top cabinet, alongside a missing lock-plate on the lower cupboard.

FAQs

Swedish pine furniture from the 19th century reflects traditional Scandinavian folk art and regional country styles, characterised by functional proportions, carved wood detailing, and durable local softwood construction.

These pieces were constructed using local Scots pine, featuring hand-planed panelled doors, carved decorative corbels, and hand-forged iron hardware such as hinges and keyhole escutcheon plates.

Authentic period examples typically display historic hand-cut joinery, original iron fittings showing subtle hand-forged irregularities, and authentic surface patination across the pine wood.

Balance the warm timber tones of an antique pine dresser by pairing it with neutral wall palettes, textured linen textiles, and contemporary ceramics or minimal art objects.

Dust regularly with a dry cloth and apply a clear beeswax paste annually to nourish the timber, avoiding placement near direct heat sources or in environments with fluctuating humidity.
