Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian silver salad servers typically date from 1901 to 1910 and reflect a shift toward lighter, more graceful tableware design compared to Victorian precursors, often incorporating glass, horn, or mother-of-pearl handles with fluted silver ferrules.

These serving utensils generally feature sterling silver or high-grade silver plate for the bowls and prongs, joined via decorative metal ferrules to handles crafted from moulded glass, cut crystal, mother-of-pearl, or polished bone.

Authentic British pieces feature official hallmarks indicating the silver purity, city assay office mark, date letter, and makers mark stamped on the reverse of the silver bowl, fork, or ferrule.

Pair period silver servers with modern ceramic or glass salad bowls on a linen tablecloth to create a sophisticated, layered tablescape for dinner parties.

Hand wash gently in warm soapy water, avoiding submerging the join between the glass handle and metal ferrule, and polish the silver elements with a soft cloth and specialist silver polish.
