Pair Of Gilt Bronze Stork Candlesticks

A very fine Pair of antique Gilded and Bronze Stork Candlesticks which are beautifully cast in the form of Bronze Storks / Cranes balancing on naturalistic rock & shell bases whilst holding a single candle sconce in their beaks. The candlesticks are unsigned but were probably made in the workshop of Thomas Abbott, a lamp-maker and brass founder in Birmingham. Abbott produced these whimsical candlesticks as both herons and storks.
