A superb set of six Bohemian engraved amber wine glasses dating to c1900.

They have cup bowls with finely engraved flower garlands and leaves. Hollow stems with applied raspberry prunts on conical feet.

One of the best sets we have had from this period.

A roemer, or rummer, is a traditional style of wine glass originating in Central Europe, recognised by its hollow or prunted stem, rounded bowl, and wide flared base.

These glasses were hand-blown using potash glass coloured with metallic oxides to achieve amber tones, finished with hand-applied glass prunts and copper wheel-engraved motifs.

Authentic examples exhibit hand-applied stem prunts, ground or polished pontil marks on the base, minor variations in glass thickness, and crisp wheel-cut decoration rather than modern acid etching.
