Edwardian design, spanning from 1901 to 1910, often favoured lighter, more refined aesthetics compared to the heavy ornamentation of the Victorian era, frequently incorporating influences from earlier historical periods like Georgian and Sheraton revivals.

Period candlesticks were commonly manufactured using a combination of turned hardwoods such as mahogany or walnut, paired with metal components like brass or bronze, and often fitted with blown glass hurricane shades.

Authenticity is typically determined by examining the construction methods, such as hand-turned wood grain patterns, tool marks on brass fittings, the presence of slight imperfections in hand-blown glass, and natural patina indicative of age.

These pieces can be integrated into modern spaces by placing them on mantelpieces, sideboards, or dining tables to introduce textural contrast, warmth, and traditional craftsmanship into a room.

Maintenance involves dusting the wooden bases with a dry microfibre cloth, avoiding harsh chemical polishes, and gently wiping brass components with a non-abrasive cleaner only when necessary to preserve the protective patina.
