Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Louis XVI style, originating in late 18th-century France, is characterised by neoclassical symmetry, straight fluted columns, and classical motifs such as acanthus leaves, garlands, and bead moulding.

Dense hardwoods such as mahogany were hand-carved with detailed fluting and foliate patterns, often fitted with metal sconce liners at the top to protect the timber from heat and wax.

Authentic period pieces and high-quality late 19th-century revival examples display precise hand-carvings, subtle timber patination, and original metal nozzle inserts within the sconce.

Position the pair symmetrically on a dining table, mantelpiece, or sideboard, combining rich timber tones with neutral ceramics or contemporary glassware to create balance.

Dust regularly with a dry, soft cloth and apply beeswax paste occasionally to preserve the timber finish, ensuring wax residue is removed carefully using non-abrasive tools.
