Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

An 18th-century glass sweetmeat or ice plate is a small glass vessel crafted during the Georgian period designed to serve sweetmeats, candied fruits, jellies, or ice desserts.

Early Georgian glassware was typically hand-blown or pressed from lead flint glass, yielding a heavy weight, strong clarity, and a clear resonance when tapped.

Authentic period pieces feature hand-finished details such as a snapped or ground pontil mark on the base, slight irregular thickness, and minor air bubbles or striations within the glass body.

These clear glass items can be placed on a sideboard top, arranged within a lighted display cabinet to showcase the glasswork, or used as trinket dishes on a dressing table.

Antique lead glass should be washed by hand in lukewarm water with a mild soap, avoiding hot water and dishwashers to prevent thermal shock and clouding.
