Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

Victorian glassware encompasses a wide range of decorative and functional items produced during the reign of Queen Victoria, characteristically featuring intricate mould-blown or wheel-cut ornamentation, heavy lead content, and ornate geometric or floral motifs.

Pieces from this period were typically crafted from lead crystal or flint glass, shaped using free-blowing, mould-blowing, or pressing techniques, and finished by hand with brilliant-cut facets and polished details.

Authentic items generally exhibit natural wear marks and scratches on the base known as shelf wear, slight irregularities in the glass from hand-finishing, and crisp, hand-cut facets rather than the smooth, rounded edges typical of modern machine production.

This piece can be styled functionally for entertaining on a dining table or displayed as a decorative accessory on an open shelf, where its reflective surface catches natural light.

Hand wash the item in warm water using a mild detergent, avoiding harsh abrasives and sudden temperature changes to protect the integrity of the glass.
