Georgian Double Series Opaque Twist Stem Wine Glass, Medial Knop, Everted Bowl Rim

This is a Georgian, English double series opaque twist wine glass dating from the middle of the 18th century, c1765. We say it is English but there is a photograph in Jacqueline Bellanger''s ''Verre Usage et de Prestige France 1500-1800'' on page 57 which attributes an identical glass to the Eastern part of France.
The glass is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the foot commensurate with some 250 years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the underside of the foot.
The glass has a scarce ogee-shaped bowl with an everted rim measuring 6.3 cm (2.5 inches) in diameter. The bowl is plain and sits on a double series opaque twist stem consisting of two white enamel tapes wound around a central twist of two white enamel cords. The stem, which has a medial angular knop, ends in a conical foot which measures 7.5 cm (3 inches) in diameter. The glass is 16.5 cm (6.6 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scr...atches or any obvious evidence of restoration. There is a small (3 mm long) scratch to the outside surface of the bowl and some unburst bubbles in the metal of the foot which date from manufacture.
Lead glass weighing in at 170 g. (~ 6 oz.).
