Antique Brass Bound Camphorwood Travelling Trunk C.1890

Description

A late 19th-century camphorwood travelling trunk with solid brass corner bindings, carry handles and inset campaign-style fittings. The timber displays rich grain patterns throughout, with a hinged lid and dovetailed carcass construction. Originally designed for overseas travel, it now works well as a coffee table or storage chest. The brass plaque to the lid is unengraved, and the interior retains its original finish with a supporting chain. English, circa 1890.
