Description

A fine lidded tankard made of Old Sheffield Plate. Marked to the rim with a workman's mark above a rubbed 'London' stamp. Dating to c1800-1820. Holding approximately one pint. A very heavy and tactile item with a very good fitting lid.

The condition is very good overall with no splits. One tiny dent to the body and very minor patches of copper bleed to the raised edges. The rest of the plating is in very good order and has a clean interior.

Weight approx 526g.

Height approx 16cm.

Base diameter approx 10.5cm.
