Monart glass is a type of art glass produced in Scotland by Salvador Ysart and his sons starting in the 1920s, known for its distinctive mottled colour combinations and cased glass techniques.

Monart pieces are hand-blown using multiple layers of coloured glass, often incorporating powdered glass, metal foils, and air bubbles within the matrix to achieve rich visual depth.

Authentic pieces often feature polished pontil marks on the base, distinctive shape profiles, paper labels, or engraved numbers, alongside characteristic suspended internal colour speckling.

Place the glass vessel on a neutral surface with directional lighting to highlight the translucent qualities, rich colours, and organic textures within the material.

Clean gently with a soft, damp cloth and avoid harsh chemical cleaners or sudden temperature changes to protect the integrity of the vintage glass.
