Description

A wonderful unheated Ceylon sapphire in this stripped back - and yet utterly eye-catching - Mid Century ring. The centre stone – certified as natural, unheated and originating from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) – is a rich, vivid blue and is secured in a six claw yellow gold setting with ‘V’ detailing in the gallery. On a slim and tapering yellow gold shank.

Accompanied by a report from Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) stating the sapphire shows no indication of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.

Cut: Oval.

Clarity: Eye-clean.

Carat: 6.55.

Circa: 1950.

Size: N (UK) or 6 1/2 (US). Free sizing available.

Measurements: The sapphire is 11.0 x 8.1mm and sits 7.7mm from the finger.

Weight: 4.22 grams.

Metal: 18k yellow gold. Tested with a Niton DXL Precious Metal Analyzer.
