Holland & Sons was a prominent London-based cabinet maker and upholsterer during the 19th century, known for supplying high-quality furniture to royal residences, stately homes, and elite institutions.

These pieces typically utilized solid secondary woods faced with highly figured decorative veneers such as burr maple or walnut, constructed with hand-cut dovetails and traditional joinery techniques.

Authenticity is determined by examining construction markers such as hand-cut dovetail joints, tool marks, secondary timber types, patination, and makers stamps or paper labels where present.

Pairing heavily figured wood pieces with minimalist architectural backgrounds and neutral walls allows the natural grain and craftsmanship to stand out as a focal point.

Maintain stable indoor humidity levels away from direct sunlight and heat sources, and periodically apply microcrystalline wax to nourish and protect the polished wooden surface.
