  • SizeH 12 cm (5 in)

Nineteenth-century glass engraving frequently utilised wheel-cutting techniques to create detailed pictorial scenes, floral motifs, and neoclassical figures on clear or coloured vessels.

These items were typically crafted from potash-lime glass or lead crystal, shaped via free-blowing or mould-blowing, and finished with intricate hand-engraved detailing.

Authentication relies on examining the depth and friction marks of the wheel engraving, the presence of pontil marks on the base, and minor surface wear consistent with age.

This piece can be displayed within glass-fronted cabinets, utilised as a singular decorative accent on open shelving, or repurposed to hold small botanical stems.

Preservation requires gentle hand washing in lukewarm water with mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes, and keeping the item away from direct sunlight.
