Victorian ale glasses were crafted during the 19th century to accommodate the popular brews of the period, often featuring slender bowls designed to maintain carbonation and enhance the tasting experience.

These pieces were typically hand-blown or mould-blown using lead or soda-lime glass, frequently featuring cut or fluted panels and applied stems.

Authentic pieces often exhibit pontil marks on the base, minor irregularities from manual manufacture, and characteristic wear consistent with age and historical use.

Antique glass can be displayed openly on shelving, used as a distinctive vessel for single stems, or incorporated into bar carts to add historical texture to contemporary schemes.

Antique glass should be washed gently by hand in lukewarm water using mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes and abrasive materials to protect the delicate surface.
