FAQs

Air twist glasses feature internal elongated air bubbles drawn out into threads within the stem, a technique developed in mid-18th century Britain following the implementation of the Glass Excise Act.

These vessels were typically hand-blown using lead glass or flint glass, allowing craftsmen to manipulate the metal while hot to form complex optical twists within the stem.

Authentication involves examining the pontil mark on the underside of the foot, checking for tool wear, assessing the weight of the lead metal, and inspecting the inner structure of the air threads for hand-drawn irregularities.

Antique glassware can be displayed within glass-fronted cabinets, utilized on bar carts, or styled as singular accent pieces on sideboards to introduce historical texture and transparent dimensionality.

Antique glass must be washed by hand in lukewarm water with mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes, and dried carefully with a lint-free cloth to protect the delicate surface and historical patina.
