This is a small Georgian engraved glass taper cordial decanter, mouth-blown some time around the turn of the 18th/19th centuries.
The decanter is in excellent condition for its age. This means, of course, that it shows some age related wear and tear to the rim of the base consistent with use.
The decanter has been blown in clear glass and is wheel-engraved with hatched swags and tails to the shoulders above floral fronds. The initials ''MJC''(?) are engraved into one side. The decanter measures 8.2 cm (3.3 inches) across at the polished base. The decanter is 19.5 cm (7.8 inches) in height without the stopper, and 24.5 cm (9.8 inches) tall with the stopper inserted. The stopper is of cut lozenge form and is possibly the original. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.
Lead glass weighing in at 315 g. (~ 11 oz.).
We sell through our own web site taking Paypal, bank transfer and debit/credit cards and ship worl...dwide.
