Here we have a wonderful fine quality Victorian Mahogany miniature apprentice chest of drawers c1850. As you can see the chest has great colour and patina. The maker has made this one all bells and whistles which makes us think that this was a sales sample. There are many features that would not all be on a full size chest of drawers at the same time and this chest would show the customer the possible options. There is a break front top with cross banded edge. There is a secret cushion moulded top drawers. There are two hat drawers to the top and faux drawers to the middle. Shown as faux drawers but could be made functional for jewellery or watches etc. There are three further graduated drawers below with cockbeaded edges and hand cut dove tail joints. There is a break front plinth base and ball feet. There are also side pillars with turned top and base with reeded decoration.
