FAQs

Air twist glasses feature elongated air bubbles trapped within the stem, created by drawing air from inside the hot glass lump during manufacture. They were predominantly produced in Britain during the mid-eighteenth century, particularly between 1740 and 1770.

These pieces were typically crafted from lead glass, which offered high clarity and weight. The stem was formed by manipulating trapped air threads within the molten metal before drawing and twisting the glass into shape, followed by hand-forming the foot.
