Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A matching pair of Victorian table lamps, converted from nineteenth-century three-arm brass and bronze candelabra, display intricate chased decoration including flowerheads, scrolling foliate, beaded rows, and reeded detail along their tapering columnar stems and circular platform bases. Each lamp supports three candle drip cups beneath a translucent cream fabric shade wrapped in protective plastic. The polished brass and bronze finish reflects a warm gold tone across the elaborately cast hardware and scrolling arms. Each lamp stands 71.2 cm high, 9.5 cm wide, and 9.5 cm deep. These pieces suit placement on a sideboard top or side table within an English country house interior, bringing traditional illumination to a living room, dining room, or hallway. The balanced proportions and historical conversion provide both ambient lighting and antique character, pairing well with traditional wooden sideboards and classic decorative schemes.

FAQs

Converted candelabra table lamps are multi-arm candleholders originally designed for wax candles that were subsequently adapted with modern electrical components to serve as table lighting.

They are predominantly crafted from cast brass, bronze, or gilt metal (ormolu), often paired with weighted bases and hand-chased decorative detailing.

Authentic period conversions display crisp casting and hand finishing alongside later additions such as drilled wire channels, modern light sockets, or attached lamp stems.

Placing a pair symmetrically on a console table, sideboard, or mantelpiece provides balanced proportions and warm ambient accent lighting.

Dust the metal surfaces with a dry, soft cloth, avoiding harsh abrasive polishes that remove historic surface patina, and ensure all electrical components meet modern safety standards.
