Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A set of three continental table lamps brings classic French Chateau style to interior spaces, designed in the form of traditional candlesticks fashioned from gilt metal and clear glass. Each piece displays a metallic gold finish with ornate acanthus leaf ornamentation around the column, fluted moulding along the circular base, and turned tiered sections. Suspended crystal prisms and beaded glass drops hang from the top platform, creating a reflective display around the central column, while electrical lamp holders with cream sleeves are fitted to the upper section. They stand 45 cm tall, with visible brown fabric-covered electrical cords extending from the bases. These decorative lighting pieces function effectively on a sideboard top, dressing table, or bedside chest within a living room, dining area, or hallway to provide ambient accent lighting.

FAQs

Lustre table lamps are decorative lighting fixtures featuring faceted glass or crystal prisms suspended from metal frames or drip pans, designed to catch and reflect light.

These lamps typically feature cast brass or bronze bases finished with gold leaf or gilding, paired with cut glass or crystal drop prisms.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit heavy cast metal construction, natural oxidisation in un-gilded crevices, and hand-cut glass droplets with wire pin attachments rather than modern clip fasteners.

Style them symmetrically on a sideboard, console table, or mantelpiece to create visual balance, or contrast their detailed metalwork against minimalist contemporary backdrops.

Dust regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth, and clean glass prisms individually using a dilute solution of mild soapy water while avoiding harsh chemical polishes on gilded metal surfaces.
