Norwegian Silver Gilt Green & White Enamel Butterfly Brooch by Hroar Prydz

1940 - 1960
Description

An exceptional Norwegian vintage silver and enamel butterfly brooch. This example has an exceptionally pretty colour combination of shades of olive green and white, with black and grey accents. The guilloche enamel wings curve slightly to reflect the light and reveal the very fine and delicate details in the enamel.

The back of the brooch is marked 'Sterling 925 S Norway' with the mark for well known Norwegian jewellery designer Hroar Prydz. There is a good fastening clasp at the back and the brooch is in wonderful condition.

 

Period: Circa 1950

 

Measurements: Height: 2 cm, Width: 3.7 cm, Weight: 5.0 grams.

Weight and measurements are approximate.
