Nailsea glass refers to glassware manufactured at the Nailsea Glassworks near Bristol, England, operating from 1788 to 1873, famous for its distinctive loop and feather patterns.

These pieces were hand-blown using lead or potash glass, incorporating white or coloured glass trails manipulated into looped, combed, or feathered motifs while hot.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit pontil marks on the base, irregular hand-blown air bubbles, hand-applied trailed decoration integrated into the body, and characteristic nineteenth-century wear and patination.

Place the glass vessel on a mantelpiece, window sill, or open bookshelf where natural light can pass through the clear and opaque glass to highlight its intricate patterns.

Clean gently by hand using lukewarm water and mild soap, avoiding harsh chemicals, abrasive sponges, or ultrasonic cleaners, and protect from direct, prolonged sunlight and thermal shock.
