Superb Rare 1772 Sterling Silver Stag Crested Bowl Georgian Antique 362g

Description

A very rare English Georgian antique solid sterling silver swing handled bowl. It is hallmarked for London 1772 with the maker being William Plummer. It has superbly designed having a sewing handle and blue glass liner. It has been engraved with a stag crest and is superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs. No chips or cracks to the liner. It measures approx. 5.75 inches (14.8cm) tall to the top of the handle by 3.5 inches (8.8cm) tall to the top of the rim by 4.5 inches (11.6cm) across the rim by and weighs 362 grams with the liner and 174 grams without. A very rare well made piece.

The Silver Squirrel has dated this piece to the 1750s.
