This is a delightful gilt bronze table centrepiece dating from around 1870. The trio of good quality Indian elephants are very well modelled and stand on a dramatic gilt bronze base with central gilt bronze candlestick holder. Each elephant has a Houdah style candle sconce to their backs also in contrasting gilded bronze.
These are a really charming centrepiece, very unique and of excellent quality from the height of the British Raj.
The Centrepiece measures 20 cms in diameter and is 10 cms in height.
