Rare Pair Georgian Prussian Glass Four Compartment Decanters With Prince Of Wales Feather Stoppers C1820

Technical Description
An exceptionally rare pair of Prussian glass decanters dating to 1820.
They have their original Prince of Wales Feather stoppers, each stopper for one of the four compartments which are sealed internally and can contain a different liquor. Flute cut neck with 2 applied neck rings, each compartment having a panel of fan, crosscut diamond and star cuts with polished pillars above and below. Radial cut base.
This style of decanter very rarely come onto the market and to find a pair is exceptional. The original style came from a spectacular example which was made as a presentation decanter for the Prince Regent in 1819 which had sulphide inclusions by Asply Pellet and Prince of Wales feather stoppers. You can see the decanter in both of Andy McConnell’s decanter books.

Excellent. One decanter has a small repair to the rim, outside that they are in superb condition with no chips or cracks and all stoppers a...re intact without damage. Clean and clear internally.
