Miles Griffiths Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the Regency era.
Originally made and used in a Northumberland Country House, this vast antique storage piece splits up well for ease of transportation. Featuring a nicely moulded cornice with four panelled doors along the break front shaped top with a flight of four wide and graduating drawers beneath to the middle, all run well and have the original wooden knob handles. Flanking the drawers are panelled cupboard doors, all the doors have the same, matching original wooden knob handles. Behind the top section doors are original, adjustable in height solid pine shelves of which there are 11 in total, (3 not photographed). To the base this Regency antique original painted pine linen press or Housekeepers Cupboard is a bank of fitted drawers, all with the original quality brass flush fit handles and to the centre and other side are more original pine storage shelves. An amazing piece that provides a fantastic amount of storage. Inside has a lovely original painted pine effect, in superb complete condition, wonderfully clean and ready for use. It goes together extremely well, complete with all the original fittings. The top section splits into three parts, two side pods and the double door central section, and again, the the base, the two side pods and the central drawer section, all sits on the original plinth. A wonderful piece of English original antique painted pine furniture that dates to the Regency period around 1815.
