Edwardian furniture, produced during the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, is characterised by lighter proportions, refined craftsmanship, and a revival of earlier historical motifs such as Sheraton and Chippendale.

Cabinetmakers during this period predominantly utilised fine hardwoods like mahogany, satinwood, and walnut, frequently incorporating brass castors and internal metallic rotation mechanisms.

Authenticity is typically determined by traditional joinery methods, such as dovetail construction, combined with period-appropriate timber patination, cast iron or brass castor wheels, and functional mechanical swivel bases.

This piece functions effectively as a standalone side table or accent unit in a study or living area, offering practical vertical storage while contrasting against modern minimalist furnishings.

Maintain the wood by avoiding direct sunlight and excessive humidity fluctuations, periodically applying a quality beeswax polish to nourish the timber and preserve the natural finish.
