Pair Of Antique Silver Vases Hallmarked Birmingham 1897 Henry Matthews

A fine matching pair of Victorian solid silver vases. Elegantly fluted, the stem has eight panels which flare gently up towards to the rim. The rim is nicely shaped into four concave petal shaped corners, with decorative leaves decoration and pierced details. This rococo detailing is repeated at the base of the stem and the circular base is shaped and ribbed.
 
Delightful vases for posies, these would make super table decorations and an ideal wedding gift.
 
 
 
Hallmarked as sterling by the Birmingham Assay Office 1897 with makers mark of Henry Matthews (this mark has become worn on one vase.
 
Condition: In very good antique condition. The green baize to each base has been replaced.
 
 
 
Measurements: Height: 15 cm Diameter at base: 5.1 cm. Weight of pair: 304 grams
