The vase is in excellent condition.

The vase is of shouldered ovoid form with a collar neck, and is blown in earth tones of dark red and white to produce an onyx-like effect; or more exactly that of Carnelian from which it gets its name. The shoulders have been enamelled and gilded with a scroll-work design. The upper rim measures 5.3 cm (2.1 inches) in diameter. The vase flares out and measures 10 cm (4 inches) in diameter at its widest point. The vase is 8.5 cm (3.4 inches) in height. There is a basal band of gilding. The vase is unsigned but most definitely Loetz. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches, or any obvious signs of restoration. There is a collector's sticker to the base. It weighs 255 g. (~ 9 oz.).
