Pair Of Art Deco Bookcases By Betty Joel

A fine pair of bookcases designed by Betty Joel. The makers label to the reverse of one, signed by Betty Joel, for Token Works Portsmouth and dated 1930. Each bookcase with three adjustable shelves by the use of metal pegs.
 
Betty Joel designed furniture, textiles and interiors, and had shops in Sloane Square and Knightsbridge. The Studio Magazine featured her work between 1927 and 1937. Today the quality and design of her pieces are highly regarded.
 
All our furniture is professionally polished and restored where necessary. Our restorer has over 40 years of furniture restoration experience including 15 years living at Windsor Castle whilst working for the Royal household, so comes highly recommended! This pair of bookcases in showroom condition.
