Berry spoons typically originated as earlier spoons, such as George III table spoons, that were later retrofitted during the Victorian era with chased, embossed, and engraved fruit and berry motifs on the bowls.

They are traditionally crafted from sterling silver, featuring hand-chased repousse work on the bowls and detailed engraving or crest work on the handles.

Authenticity is verified through clear British hallmarks including the makers mark, sterling standard lion passant, town mark, and date letter, alongside period-appropriate wear and craftsmanship.

Antique silver can be displayed in glass-fronted cabinets, used within traditional table settings, or incorporated as curated decorative accents on dining sideboards.

Silver should be cleaned infrequently using specialised non-abrasive polish, handled with clean cloths, and stored in tarnish-resistant fabrics or dry environments.
