Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

Integrate the piece into contemporary spaces by mounting it at standard eye level to anchor an empty corner, using it to display curated collections of ceramics or glassware while contrasting its dark wood tones against neutral walls.

Preserve the finish by keeping the timber away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent splitting, cleaning only with a soft dry cloth, and occasionally applying traditional beeswax to nourish the wood.

Authentic pieces typically feature hand-cut dovetail joints, pegged mortise and tenon construction, period brass H-hinges or escutcheons, and visible signs of age-related timber shrinkage and hand-planed surfaces.

These cupboards were predominantly crafted from native timbers such as oak and elm for structural integrity, frequently accented with veneered or crossbanded mahogany, walnut, and fruitwood stringing for decorative contrast.

A Georgian hanging corner cupboard is a wall-mounted storage unit designed specifically to fit into the corner of a room, popular during the 18th and early 19th centuries in British homes to maximise space.
