Technical Description
 
 
A 19th century Vaseline wine glass dating to c1860. It has a tulip bowl with slice cutting which continues down the stem. Conical foot with polished pontil.
 
Comments
 
Vaseline glass is a term for the transparent yellow through yellow-green glass that owes its colour to the uranium content (which is perfectly safe to use). However green uranium glasses can also be called Vaseline glass, but its colour is produced by adding iron to the pot.
