Sold by: Cella

Fine quality, large, early 19th century single three branch French classical candelabra with a figural bronze of probably one of the Nymphs of Calypso, based on François Fénelon’s ''The Adventures of Telemachus'' published in 1699 and painted by Angelica Kauffmann in 1782. Beautiful bronze holding a garland of flowers standing against a column culminating in three individually designed floral candle cups and a stylised fir cone finial. Rich untouched patination with spots of verdigris. Presented on a superb, very attractive Giallo Antico marble column base with a classically inspired bronze beaded ring and architrave. Fine example, circa 1830.
