Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Queen Anne style furniture originated in the early 18th century, characterised by graceful curves and cabriole legs, but experienced a significant revival during the Victorian era when craftsmen reinterpreted these classic forms with heavier ornamentation and rich dark woods.

These items were typically constructed from solid hardwoods such as walnut or mahogany, featuring hand-carved details, joined frames, and traditional upholstery methods utilising horsehair, webbing, and springs beneath woven textiles.

Authentic pieces exhibit period-appropriate joinery such as hand-cut dovetails or traditional pegging, signs of age-related patina on the timber, hand-carved rather than moulded ornamentation, and older foundation materials beneath the upholstery.

An antique stool can serve as a functional accent piece, positioned beside a modern sofa to provide textural contrast, used as a low bedside table, or placed beneath a console to add historic character to a minimalist space.

Preserve the wood by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, applying occasional traditional beeswax polish to nourish the grain, and protecting antique textiles with gentle vacuuming using a low-suction attachment.
