Antique glass should be washed exclusively by hand in warm water using mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes to prevent thermal shock and cracking.

Historic glassware can be displayed within glass-fronted cabinets or styled meticulously on open shelving to highlight its transparency and intricate form against modern textures.

Authentic examples often display pontil marks on the underside of the foot, surface wear consistent with age, and minor glass imperfections such as tiny bubbles or striations.

These pieces were typically crafted from lead glass, introduced in the late 17th century, which allowed for greater clarity and malleability for intricate stem manipulation.

Air twist glasses feature elongated stems enclosing fine threads or spirals of air, created by drawing out air bubbles trapped within the molten glass during manipulation.
